992 S to 992 4S with RWS
Discussion
If your car is now 6 years old and used regularly, then can see why you may be considering a change.
But, personally, I don t believe 4wd makes a better car, in fact many here prefer 2wd. Tyres more important in adverse weather.
RWS like PDCC divides opinion. I ve tried both and wouldn t spec either.
Do agree that the standard suspension is more compliant and a touch quieter on UK roads than the lowered sports suspension on the T and GTS.
The limiting essential for me is becoming the manual gearbox. On the 992.2 this is only available on the T and GT3, but on the 992.1 it can still be found on the T, S and GTS.

I have owned both a 991.2 and 992.1 4S. I currently drive a 992.1 4GTS. These are used all year and I cover about 10k miles a year
I have driven the rear wheel drive versions and my preference has always been for the 4wd. It provides a better drive especially in the wet and feels more sure footed when driven hard.
None have RWS but having driven a 4GTS with RWS, there is an improvement but not noticeably enough to warrant adding to the spec.

I drive my 2019 992 2S all year round. I m in the uk and I ve seen a 4S with RWS should i change? Interested in peoples opinions on going from 2 to 4wd on a 992. I don t want a GT car or GTS given the stiffer suspension (SPASM VS PASM) and general running costs.
I wonder what the cost of the change of car might be?I have a 4S and even though most of the power, most of the time, is at the rear wheels, I like the assurance of AWD along with slightly heavier steering feel. Some people talk about the pleasure of a 911 'moving around' - I don't.

Isn’t there a reduction in the space available in the frunk on a ‘4’ ? Probably not a deal breaker for most but I seem to remember noticing when I was looking that the ‘4’ has intrusions into the floor of the frunk.
FWIW, I’m considering switching my manual, RWS 992.1GTS ‘2’ for a 4S PDK as I’m finding the lack of winter traction tedious (but fun at times).

I have a turbo s which is 4wd and rear steer
Rear steer I have never noticed.
I have done 4 Porsche experience centre turbo s days and with traction on it is impressive that the low friction surface is a non event given the electronics and 4wd.
The turbo s motivation for 4wd is mostly there is no other way of transferring 650 bhp to the road but the stability on a poor road surface is impressive

Yes, the 4 has a slightly smaller frunk, I can't say the difference is easy to spot and I've managed easily on my month long visits into France with it. FWIW, I m considering switching my manual, RWS 992.1GTS 2 for a 4S PDK as I m finding the lack of winter traction tedious (but fun at times).
Mine is a 4S and I have to say I am a big fan of PDK, it suits my driving and is usually in sports mode once warmed up. It is always in the right gear and is very quick to recognise going up or down hills with lightening shifts. It can (obviously) be driven in manual mode too - which I very rarely do.
I drove both back to back on rain soaked roads a few years ago .
The 4 is more capable in such conditions ,traction control was kicking in much earlier in the 2, but the 2 is very capable in those conditions .I genuinely can’t remember much else although I recall a few others on the day preferring the steering feel of the 2s .
