991 C4S tyre life question

Assuming no track work, what mileage are people getting out of their tyres?

I have no idea what to expect - I'm guessing around 10,000, but haven't a clue.

I put new tyres on mine when I bought it, so I'm curious.

When I bought mine it had nearly new tyres all round (so perhaps 6mm). MOT yesterday and no comment was made so maybe 3mm. 3 years and 9000 miles

On my 3rd set of Michelin rears in 21k , 2 sets of fronts.
991.2 carrera 4 gts

I would replace my tyres at 3mm or 3 years whichever comes first. Fronts especially, as they do the most crucial work.

I would say check before the 7K, I would measure the inner + outer edges and the middle and then do it again after a couple of thousand miles.

I've just replaced my two three year old rears on 991.2 GTS and the inside of one tyre was worn down to the cords. The other rear was significantly more worn on the inside compared to the middle and outer edge. No idea how many miles it had done on those tyres as I bought the car in Aug 25.

I had a geo carried out on the car at the cost of £200 to ensure it was setup propertly too.

Yep, I think it's 44lb-ft more than my C4S thanks to Mr Turbo. Even so, the advice to check tyres a bit earlier than I had originally thought is very helpful.

I’ve just had 2 rears replaced , I started getting vibration through the whole car at 98 +.
Once the car was on a ramp , you could see there was 4mm on the middle but the inner edges were both bald !
New tyres, car is silky smooth again .

Yes, that was my point really. My wear over 8000 miles in three years (my 9000 above was terrible maths induced) in a .1 might well have been more wear in a .2 doing roughly the same use.
