992.1 stop/start and PCM strangeness

Morning all,

I have a 992.1 that I purchased about 6 months ago, it's a 19 plate car. It's C2S.

I've had a few issues recently, but before I book in with the dealer to have a look I wanted to get the thoughts of the PH collective.

It seemed to start with PCM issues, a couple of times it's been working fine, then I get a completely blank screen, sometimes with music still playing and other times it looks like it goes through a power cycle and I get the Porsche logo as it restarts...I've had some instances where it just stays blank, even if I hold the power button down for a reset, but it does seem to come back to life after the car has been closed and locked for a period of time.

Then, this weekend I've started getting stop/start failure error messages on the dash, again seems to reset after a restart and it also seems to impact the cruise control (standard, not active) and the function just seems to vanish.

I am suspecting that it maybe the battery and I was thinking of trying a repair cycle using a ctek charger.

Does it sound like battery issues? Anyone had any luck using a ctek to reslove issues like that?

Could well be the battery if it’s not been replaced (it will have a date on it somewhere) and the it’s not on a maintainer or the car is being driven infrequently.
The PCM issues could be related or a symptom of hard drive failure which is also fairly common at the age of your car. If it’s not failed completely you can clone the drive and replace with a solid state one fairly cheaply.
