Hi all.
Thinking of getting into a 911 991 T sometime, but the turbo issue puts me off slightly with the turbo seal problem. What are peoples thoughts on this. As I’ve heard it can be expensive especially if out of warranty.
Thanks for any replies.

Not specific to the T but I think the Porsche warranty is incredibly good value at about £1300 a year…yes you have to get your car serviced at Porsche so you could argue it is say £2k a year but you it is huge piece of mind. With a known weakness like the turbo issue I think you would be sensible to include the cost of having a warranty in your ownership considerations.

I think Cheib has summed it up.

If it's an OPC car it will have a warranty at the POS, if it's out of warranty and you want to add a warranty Porsche will want to perform a comprehensive check before you can apply a warranty. Warranty costs reduce if you buy several years rather than 12 months.

You could always service outside of the OPC network and not have a warranty which will ultimately save you some money which you could then put into a what if/repairs fund.

Swings and roundabouts.

Thanks for the reply, that also makes sense to me.

Would rather buy from Porsche certainly, but they would have to have a car that ticks all the boxes.

There are also cheaper options for turbo replacement away from the OPCs. Plus cheap preventative measures too.
Warranty work is a handy revenue stream for the OPCs….
