PCM on 981 Boxster

Hi All

OPC has had my car for 3 weeks now trying to sort out a PCM issue (that has been ongoing for a while)

The PCM seems to lose power,turning off the entire unit (screen goes blank) then restarts itself from scratch. It can do this occasionally, or on a very off day it will do this every 2 minutes!

Porsche have reflashed the software in the original PCM, and then replaced the entire PCM unit for it to happen all over again.....


Has anyone else had these issues, or similar

add:
the new unit wouldn't remember the settings input, so for example I change the settings to 'birds eye view', take the key out of the slot, and hey presto, it's back to a flat screen map....

any similar experiences folks?

Any indication it's temperature related. The behavior you describe does not strike me as an issue specific to Porsche PCM but a 'simple' naffted up electronics thing. My home CD player (yes I still have one.) does something vaguely similar until it's been on for a while.

The PCM needs to shut down on 2005 boxter but its not happening. If I can reset will start a number electrical transmits to
things like rear lights, rear boot cover, and to wind deflector. I am unable to close the PCM at the moment.
