Insurance recommendation please
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm just about to become a Boxster owner (first porsche) and I'm looking for some insurance recommendations.
It'll be a second car, limited mileage and garaged so I'm hoping to get a classic policy as it a 2001 car.
What would a 44 yr old with a clean license living in central Bristol expect to pay?
Ideas please.......…....
My only guide so far is my old TVR policy, similar value, same criteria which saw me paying less than £220pa.

Insurance for my Boxster S was quoted at about 20% more than a TVR Chimaera with the meerkat / confused brokers etc, and Direct Line.
I went for classic cover in the end with Lockton. They do a good scheme if you're a member of PCGB. Includes European wide b/down cover, although you'll have limited mileage.

I phoned a few last week when I bought my Boxster, including specialist sports car companies that I have used in the past and none of them came close to Aviva, in fact some of them used Aviva themselves when quoting me - I'm already with Aviva so got discount for it being a second car.
Admiral multi car are still quoting the cheapest for my GT3 this year but they only offer market value in the event of total loss.
That could be hard to prove for a MK1 GT3CS as they only come up for sale once or twice a year.
With that in mind I'm going to pay £30 extra (£460 in total) to Mannings and have agreed value (£50k) and a proper level of cover that suits the car.
