I've decided to pull the trigger on a BGTS in the coming week - I've been on the configurator playing with colour schemes but it can be difficult to work out whether a colour combo works on the computer screen. Main criteria are:

1) it cannot be silver or white as I have those colours already
2) cannot be dark blue as I have just got out of a dark blue car

Other than that, it's pretty open. My current left field (for me) choices are:
http://www.porsche-code.com/PF3Q6WL8 (some pics of the mahogany brown in real life look stunning, just trying to work out whether it has enough red in it to work with the black interior and red stitching)

and

http://www.porsche-code.com/PFUMPQA9

Need to use the 3D view on the configurator, 2D pics are a waste of time!

Anyone else got any interesting combos that look good? Pref with good pics in real life? Interested to see what I might have missed since we all have intrinsic ways of thinking.

Given that I'm going to be ordering my first ever car, I figure I'll go down an interesting route that appeals to me rather than getting the Porsche equivalent of Ferrari resale Red with Cream given that I'll take a bit of a bath on it either way

Frosted White with expresso
Red with black
White with blue
Yellow with tan
Racing green with expresso

Or for a little extra why not metallic black with dark purple?

I presume the expresso (sic) will make it faster.

If it had that, I'd order one like a shot.

Gold and black with red highlights: http://www.porsche-code.com/PFPFTT79

First time I've played with gold and liked it. Pricey colour combo though....

I personally ordered Yellow with full leather Amber/Orange interior - coming in May, so no real photos. But there are some on Planet 9.

Both hands for Mahogany or Brown still with full leather Amber/Orange interior. Considered these variants and really liked them but:
- in our hot climate these colours were too much for summer and
- could not justify premium for these colors to myself as was tight on budjet.

Strongly recommend to check full leather Amber/Orange interior, really a loooker and fit for such a nice car.
And if money no object - go ahead with mahogany. The car will be one of a kind and very special, which it really is.

BTW, Lime Gold was my FIRST choice but again, price is too high for me.

There is 1 Boxster on Planet 9 in Lime Gold, fantastic... Still Mahogany will be much more special...

Mario - don't know if it helps but I recently bought a BMW in Smoked Topaz which is similar (though a bit lighter) to Mahogany. I went for a brown interior and the combination works very well. The dashboardremains black and the doors are black with brown leather panels. The black you have suggested certainly wouldn't clash - though not sure about the red stitching.. It is wise to check out what stitching is in red as on a previous Boxster, I specified stitching to match bodywork (Zanzibar Red!) but handbrake and gera lever remained in standard colour. Porsche Reading offered a "re-stitch" but the cost was horrendous.

Not sure about your second choice of Gold - I thin k it can look a bit bland in the flesh.

Good luck anyway - I always enjoy speccing n ew cars!!

Wouldn't presume to advise anyone on such a personal choice. All I would say is that a left field / possibly marmite choice might impact on resale values. Probably no issue if you intend keeping the car a long time - better to get exactly what you like and ignore what anyone else thinks.

Regarding the rest of your spec I'd think about a sports wheel if you intend overriding the PDK much.

Not the best of pics but the following might help give you an idea of the Anthracite with pebble and agate interior.
Personally I think it works really well. Not sure there is enough red in the exterior colour for the red stitching to work but would need to see it before committing.

Your taste in other cars is without question, but IMO that looks like urine.

+1 Amber/Orange with Mahogany will look amazing! I'd spec ceramics too as those steel disks look tiny behind those 20 inch wheels. I'd also try and spec centre lock wheels GT3 style. May be wait for GT4 as its just round the corner?!?
