Hi all

Relatively new to porsche ownership and just wanted to check something with you guys - what should I expect interns of power delivery through the rev range.

When I first got the car (used cayman s - gen 1) there seemed to be a noticeable step change in power delivery at circa 5k revs. However, it's recently been into porsche for some warranty work to replace the air/oil seperator and since its been back the power delivery has been a lot smoother - still a change through the Rev range but not as noticeable in terms of a 'step'

What's normal? I'm not aware of the car having had a map change previously that may have been reset while in the garage and it doesn't feel down on power - just a smoother delivery

relatively smooth and linear is what it should be, there shouldn't be a huge amount of v-tec style cam push, a little maybe but not much.

My gen1 S had a very slight step in the revs, certainly no dead spot (well when the clutch pedal switch was replaced it didn't)

can be seen on any dyno, it's for co2 test etc, I tuned it out of mine.
Car was far better.
you can see the bhp dip and the torque dip at circa 3.500 rpm on the standard map.
the mods after smoothed that out
