Battery is completely dead despite using a battery conditioner. can get a replacement but need to get the car to the garage. Cannot get car out of my garage with difficult access so want to jump start from my other car which is alongside.
So am I going to damage anything if I try to start it from another car using jump leads? Don't want to fry anything important. Do I need to be careful regarding order of connecting/disconnecting the slave battery?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Why do you need to get the car to a garage to put a new battery in?

It was my thread which wasn't actually the same question, twas whether I could jump another car from the Cayman.

The answer though is yes, it's not bother at all to it either way around - just follow the rules when connecting the jump leads to save damaging any expensive onboard electronics.

Best to do it straight to the battery under the cover in the front boot.

Thanks for the prompt replies. Managed to get the car going after connecting boost charger borrowed from a neighbour. Evenually started and got it to OPC in Faro Portugal as currently touring Europe in it. They replaced battery which was completely dead, checked alternator was OK and reset all the codes etc for 200 Euros. I am sure I could have got a cheaper alternative, as already discussed on another thread, but 200 Euros including fitting etc not bad for peace of mind whilst travelling. Now back on the road.
PS Prices of new Porsches in Portugal out of this world. 277,000 Euros for a new 911 4S!!! I thought the EU was all about level pricing!

Car prices may be high there but 200 Euros for a battery from an OPC is at least 100 Euros cheaper than in the UK
