Hello PH'ers,

I just sold my Mini cooper and planning to buy a porsche cayman 987 in 2016. Which one is the best option a 2.9 or 2.7, any specific problems associated? I cannot buy a cayman s since I live in Belgiun an the yearly tax we have to pay for bigger engines is ridiculuous.

So you bought an 2,9, satisfied? Personally I prefer the 2.9, cabin&exterior looks nicer and 2.9 engine is probally more robust. Do you have a stick or pdk?

I haven't made a purchase yet, but think the 2.9 is winning for me. Will cost a bit more but I will appreciate the extra power, better interior more I think.

I'd go for the 2.9. Newer and better engine. Better styling too.

I'm also a little bit afraid that i doesn't have enough torque for my taste. A few years ago we had a Boxster 2.5 from 1998, and the engine was doing nothing below 4000rpm and at 6500rpm it was all over.
