Making a 981 PSE louder!!
Discussion
My mate has just bought this for his new M4.

Was dubious about the real world sound. But to be fair opens (all) the values further even when compared with sport+ mode. And sounds amazing compared to standard. Not a great video attached, but you get the idea.

I've got 981 CGTS. (obvs with PSE) It’s there a similar product for my car anyone has come across?? i.e. without "proper" modification. Been looking on Google for a few weeks can't find anything.
Hoping you can help.
Cheers.

Afaik the valves are either open or closed on a PSE. Why don't you just disconnect the actuator plug in the engine bay to keep the valves premanently open.
clearly you didn't read the post. I want to buy a product not tamper with the car. Although it might be the same thing

I hope you guys realise that it's insensitivity to noisy exhausts that has caused them to be banned. If you want even more draconian restrictions carry on.
Motorcyclists have already been there - and history is repeating. And most bikes (as standard) sound pretty anaemic as standard as a result.

Im happy to live the wrong side of regulation, just wondering if anyone can help me get there....seems not
Trouble is in doing so you are likely to result in regulations that impact on everyone else - as I say that is exactly what has happened on motorbikes. Because motorbikes were PERCEIVED to be noisy, largely it must be said because people fitted aftermarket systems that WERE noisy, draconian regulations are in place which strangle ALL bikes - cock up the carburation at 5500 revs (where the noise happens to be measured) and result in (legal) bikes sounding like giant hoovers. If that is what you want to happen to cars, carry on. It isn't just you who will be impacted.

Someone asks for advice on a louder exhaust and is suddenly castigated for causing the regulation of noise control in the EU...! And he had a smiley faced emoji!
Like it or not, the irresponsible/insensitive use of noisy exhausts IS the reason that such regs are being put in place. Someone doing so isn't operating in a vacuum, with no impact on the rest of us. Trotmant said:

I wouldn’t worry about regulation. Electric motoring will be on us before that would happen and before that turbos. It would be too expensive for to in-force or regulate on the street. E-bikes are behind the hybrid / alternative power trains in the car industry and that issue arose much earlier on. I like cars that set car alarms off.  Just not in my neighbourhood as I have to live there. Hence want a product that can be on off like the attached. Hopefully this is clear. 
You only have to read the latest 991.2 rumours. Read one of them saying that Porsche are planning to synthesise the noise into the 911's cabin now.
All those 911 fan boys will be so happy.
The beginning of the end is already here. So whilst its legal. More noise I say.

You must have hardier ears than me! I love PSE on my BGTS, but I don't think I'd ever want it any louder! No i don't want to get in and out of my car in the rain or night and plug/unplug the fuses
No i don't want an after market exhaust that requires a workshop to change
yes i would like a plug and play device as per my op

Dunno what the sound crap going on in here is about. Having the valves open all the time doesn't make the exhaust louder overall just at lower rev ranges and you will get more pops and bangs. I have a switch that does exactly what you want in my gen 2 rs. Works perfectly and completely reversible. I "think" this is the version for the 981 boxster. Been using the product for 2 years and no valve problems or anything.

I agree - and making it even louder would be out of character with the car IMO, it isn't a cheap hatch back boy racer special. Each to their own I guess....On our 987/1 Boxster S I retrofitted PSE and left off the switch so it was on loud all the time. I soon got fed up with it and added the switch!Edited by dreamcar on Saturday 25th July 11:19
