"Fuel efficiency, which is the
most important factor of the downsizing, is improved by one litre per 100km [around 5mpg] compared to the current model.”

There you have it, folks.

1 litre saved per 60 miles. Phew , we can breathe a sigh of relief that Porsche has saved our lovely planet with the introduction of this masterpiece of automotive engineering.

If true that is appalling - it means it is heavier (in one case 100kg + heavier) than comparably powerful 2wd 4 cylinder turbo hot hatches made from steel with lots more (heavy) glass. I do wonder if they have taken some of the aluminium out to make it cheaper - it's difficult to credit otherwise.

How do they lose 2 cylinders, add a turbo system and find 85kg? No way a turbo setup weighs that much, must be more going on.

I don't care if it's more powerful, faster, does more mpg is lost its 6 cyclinder heart...and that matters lots.

But don't worry everyone, it's "baritone". It says so in all three articles. Journalistic integrity is intact. Double plus good.

<soothing voice> Everything is fine. Repeat, everything is fine. Uncle Porsche has told you. Just sign here and everything will be fine.

I agree with you, that's certainly plausible (he said, hopefully). Otherwise it's just dismal news on top of other dismal news!

Hope they launch it in Redondo Beach.

"Down by the OceanPC, it was so dismal
Women all standing with a shock on their faces."

"Everyone was singing [in 'baritone' voices], a girl [once great little sports car] is washed up
On Redondo Beach and everyone is so sad.
I was looking for you, are you gone gone?
Pretty little girl986, everyone cried.
She was the victim of sweet suicide.
I went looking for you, are you gone gone?" etc.

Flatti Six (1996-2015) RIP
