Hi All

I'm planning on getting my Carrera S II alloys refurbished in a couple of months. I'm unsure what colour to go with. Are there factory paint codes like the main body? Now I don't usually like colour codes wheels but I'm thinking meteor grey might go quite well? Anyone decent with photo shop to match the body colour to the wheels?

Purely subjective.

For me, it would be too much boring grey., but thats just my view. Bright silver is my choice.

I think you might be right, I'm coming to the same conclusion. I'll take a look at the slelection of finishes at my local place.

I've got the same wheels and had mine chrome powder coated, it's not a mirror finish but looks like polished aluminium.

I like the platinum silver colour available on the 981 Cayman, think it would look good on my silver Cayman but again possibly too much grey on yours but worth considering. Would this not create a warranty issue if you needed to claim on something unrelated?

Thanks. Yes I think I've convinced myself to go nice and bright silver, not chrome but something that contrasts with the meteor grey paint. It the wheel drops off they'll probably say it was because of the refurb wink I imagine if you resubmitted for the 111 check they possibly might be picky and say 'non standard'. If the aircon fails I very much doubt they'd refuse a warranty claim because the wheels are a different colour smile

I visited the Bournemouth Porsche centre today and in their showroom they had a grey (meteor?) boxster with matching grey wheels - it looked better than I expected it to, and probably better than black would look, but I'm not sure that I'd be brave enough to switch from silver.

This smile don't know what it is (maybe I'm old and grumpy) but colour coded wheels (unless OE) and grey especially, always look a bit 'meh' - but it's your car! If you can't get a photoshop expert to help, google images will probably throw up a few images as other people tend to have done it too.

I agree, Meteor would work as long as you have a silver rim (which your style of wheel is designed to have).

I had the same wheel on my old 2.9 987C.....the original silver paint was rather odd....almost a flat silver in some lights.

I would go for a brighter silver than standard.

They look great. I also agree that the standard finish does seem very flat/dull. I've convinced myself to go as bright silver as possible...right up to the edge of bling but not beyond wink

I don't know where you are in the world but check to see if there is a " The Wheel Specialist " franchise close to you they did the powder chrome on my wheels, I have major OCD when it comes to things like this and they did a superb job.

They had lots of wheels on display showing all the colours and finishes.
