Disturbing how the front shock has been ripped clean out. Are the towers aluminium on the GT4?

Cast metals are generally more brittle, well, less ductile, than forged metals. It is a characteristic arising from the grain size and orientation of the grains of cast metal vs. forged metal.When my 2008 Cayman S was hit some cast iron hardware was fractured. While cast alumumin and iron are tough there is a limit to the forces they can withstand.
There is nothing sinister in that damage. In this case it is just the result of a car encountering something it shouldn't have...
