Isofix pictures please?
Discussion
Hi,
Anyone with isofix and airbag deactivation on 981 Cayman/boxster? Can you see any difference on the seat or are mounting points covered? Don't want / need isofix but would like airbag deactivation option. If any could take a picture if seat with isofix that would be great to see if they are noticeable before I lock spec.
Thanks

Hi
I have a BGTS bought new last November and I ignored the Isofix option as we only use child seats fastened by belt (never thought there would be no airbag switch). On reading the user manual you have to switch off the passenger airbag for children until they weigh 27kg which is about 9 years old.
I complained that this wasn't advised clearly as all cars I've bought in the last 10 years have an airbag switch - so eventually a deal was struck which I am happy with to have the Isofix kit retrofitted as I want to be able to take my grandchildren out in it from time to time. Not got it done yet but the parts are in and I have the car booked in next month. I understand the passenger seat will not tilt so far forward but no other effect as far as I know - so my advice is to get it optioned if you want to carry children as it's expensive to get it retrofitted.

Cheers, have asked dealer if he can confirm about any other issues apart from seat tilting, doesn't seem a big issue as no-one will be getting in the back!
Just a bit of grist to the mill - and it's certainly not a big issue - but I do find the coat hooks on the back of seats quite useful, and for shortarses like me and my other half the extra luggage space behind the seats can store a surpising number of cases of wine..... How far access to both is compromised by isofix I don't know. You can't fold the seats very far forward anyway when they are jacked right up as we have them.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
