I always hear the same concerns from people about outdoor car covers. Having used one successfully for nearly 3 years I can only assume that people have either never used one or have used a poor/ill fitting cover on a dirty car.
If you're serious about covering your car invest in a quality tailored cover from a company like Specialised Car Covers and then ONLY make sure you only fit it to a clean and dry car. Maintaining a car in winter with a cover was however a PITA; it was difficult to clean and dry the car after a day's driving before covering (i.e. no light and wet & damp outside). In the end I used to professionally store the car over winter as it wasn't worth the hassle.
I had to use a cover though as my car was parked under trees (sap; bird s
t; falling debris etc). If your car is out in the open away from such problems it might well be worth (as some have already suggested) in just applying a good coat of wax to protect the paintwork. The car will breathe and won't suffer from condensation under cover for starters.
GT4 is a great motor and I can see why you want to keep it pristine.
All the best.

I had a 'specialised cover' and apart from the cockroach jumping out of it when I unpacked it (yuk!), it was a super quality outdoor cover. However, what you'll find is that your car needs to be absolutely spotless clean before putting it on, so unless you can do this after every drive they just aren't worth the hassle. I won't be bothering this time, may get PPF instead (albeit that is much more expensive!)

Thanks for information decided not to buy one, as garage is being started towards end of the summer and if need be will put into store. Thanks again cannot wait to pick up and the end of the month.
Considering the value of the car. I would have it professional detailed and a ceramic coating applied. For 600-800 it would be well worth it. It makes cleaning so much easier as well.stebbo said:
