Not a good idea to drive the Evo now as there is a lot of local sensitivity which has been compounded by a tragic accident a couple of months ago. I'm sure it will be being policed vigorously from now on.

Very sad news but I don't think the Evo Triangle has the best roads in the area anyway.

Really sad news. We have just returned from a motorbike tour of north wales this weekend. As stated above, there are better roads around the area to have a bit of fun. Evo Triange was quite good, but not what I was expecting tbh. In fact we were warned by loads of other bikers about speed cameras and unmarked cars all over the area,

Yes you are both correct. I live in North Wales and there are far better roads than Evo.

Have to say I really enjoyed it when I took my Cayman there last summer. What other N Wales roads would you recommend?

Interesting thread this. Im at Anglesea on the 4th of June and had intended driving the local roads either side of that date. Keen to know more about local roads other than the EVO

The road from Newtown to Llandridnod Wells is a belter if done midweek with lighter traffic, with the stop at Crossgates Cafe. This was well known to bikers years before the 'Triangle' was known about, but high levels of deaths/accidents ended up with it being heavily policed/speed traps etc. I'm not sure if that level of monitoring hasn't dropped off a bit by now though?

That is Mid-Wales, sorry.

I hope the driver of the Clio (assuming he was driving too fast and lost control) is showing remorse for killing a seemingly innocent family. It is a great road, not the best, I wonder if Evo Magazine still use it, or have moved on to avoid any backlash. I think it is wise to remember when driving these roads at law breaking speeds that it isn't always just your own life being put at risk, but innocent ones too. Be safe out there.

I'm sorry, but it's not "offensive" to drive a road on which someone died.

Get a fricking grip.

I've never done the Wales Evo triangle but there's an "evo triangle" in Surrey which is great fun.

No-one has said that because you choose to h&t on the road you must think you are a driving God. Once again you're deliberately mispreprenting what others have said, presumably to start an argument?

Can i be controversial? I say they should have designated weekends in the year where there are no speed limits and people can do what they like. If you crash or die, then that's your problem - Isle of Man style.

Otherwise, we're going to have idiots who spoil the fun for everyone else and soon enough there will be cameras on every corner. Likewise, the local community shouldn't have to put up with being inconvenienced on a day-to-day basis.

I don't know whether they still use it or not (accident aside), but I do know they use certains roads in south and mid Wales a lot more.

Sidicks, Cmoose - you two deserve each other.

I don't know what the rest of us have done to deserve you though!
