I've noticed that Porsche show these still and with "limited availability"

Anyone know what that actually means?

The boxster was removed and replaced with the 718 immediately so that suggests they keep on top of the web content

Cheers

No more available, only if there is a cancellation but chances are that the car will already be specced.

Which makes you wonder why it's still on there doesn't it?

Odd

Not really, the 718 Boxster is just around the corner, with launch this month; the 718 Cayman is a little later. Ultimately all can still be configured via the online tool, they just don't all show on the main website.

Porsche will keep it on the web site until it is superseded with the next generation even though you can no longer order one. Same with other low production models such as 981 Boxster Spyder, 911R etc etc. It's there to show what models are in the Porsche line up.

I tried finding the 981 on the day the 718 launched and it had already gone, or at least I couldn't find it anywhere....

I assume you meant the 981 Spyder? Simple, go to the configuration tool for the 718, then top left, pick models, highlight Boxster and there it is.

For now, but can't do anything with it, not like there is still an opportunity to order one.
