Just wondered if anyone's seen any drops in 997 second gen PDK cars now the 991.2 is out?

Thought it may be a good time to buy and less of a depreciation drop now that the car is effectively 2 generations old.

Would be interested to hear the thoughts of those who track prices more closely.

Do you mean 997.2? If so, prices haven't changed much for ages.

Sorry yes too many beers on a Sunday evening, I did indeed mean 997.2!

Interesting that prices have firmed when I thought they would drop with the 991.2.

Funnily enough when I sold my 997.1 back to the dealer last year after 2 great years and 20k miles added to the clock... he was able to advertise it for sale for MORE than I paid him for it in 2013! That is mind boggling

Bought it about two months ago from OPC Silverstone...all important (for me) manual box with short shift. Put the deposit down before they got a chance to photograph it!

Thanks all.....yes I absolutely friggin love it. My first Porsche! Lived in London for the last 20 plus years and scratched a very big itch.

Lucky enough that I have some great country roads/lanes to drive it on. The chassis and powertrain combo is just perfect for that. Although I'd love to give a Cayman a go...I do wonder what a Cayman GTS/GT4 would be like in comparison. Much as I'd like a GT3 at some stage I am not sure it would be as well suited.

The GTS is unquestionably the sweet spot of the 997s and for real world driving on typical UK roads a non RS 997 GT3 is arguably no quicker.

GT4 probably has the edge in these conditions helped by mid engine, GT3 brakes and front end....feels smaller and more chuckable than a 997 too.

991 GT3 is the king imo for those who don t mind PDK, although few roads offer the fantastic potential of the car.

This is one....driving

I know of a superb 997.2 4S manual coming up for sale. Silver with black leather and adaptive seats. 40k miles. 2 previous owners, 21 months Porsche warranty. My brother's car. He is trying to value it this morning so any ideas appreciated - or PM me if interested.
Will be up on Pistonheads classifieds next week.

Slightly different car but recently sold a nicely speced 60 plate gen 2 c2s Pdk with 21k on the clock for 45k privately. Which I thought was a very far price.

Thanks. I was thinking around that figure. He is fastidious and the car has recently had major service, new belt, new clutch, battery, front dampers (warranty due to n/s weep) by Dick Lovett so ready to go. Plus the long Porsche warranty. Will post ad for him on here and see what happens.
