Hi All,

Seriously considering a gen 2 boxster as the next car, but am unsure what the standard levels of equipment in the various models and engine sizes are.

Ideally I'm looking for Sat Nav, climate, folding mirrors, parking sensors - but am a bit in the dark about PSM / PASM stuff and other bits that may (or may not) be desirable.

Any info would be great!

Thanks

Steven

Sat nav is optional as part of the PCM package (comes with a little touchscreen in the dash), as are parking sensors.

Folding mirrors - I'm not even sure these exist on the Box.

PASM is the adjustable suspension system, seems to be quite desirable and useful (especially with bigger wheels).

Sat Nav, climate, parking sensors, PASM and folding mirrors are all optional. PSM is standard as is A/C. Other options include: sport chrono, PSE, full leather, sports seats, PDK, 19" wheels, etc, etc.

I'd go with the spec that suits you and not worry too much about what may or may not be desirable. I wanted xenons, PASM, climate, heated seats, cruise, parking sensors and auto wipers. I found one with all of that apart from the auto wipers, gained PCM, NAV, sound package plus and sport chrono instead, all of which I could have happily done without.

I think my 987.2 3.4S is quite basic, optional extra's are 19's Spyder alloys, Bose, PDK, heated seats, rear parking sensors, cruise control. That's probably how I would have spec'd it though ...

It might actually be easier to suss out what's not on the car, rather than list what is standard.

Options would include, PASM, 19's, PCM/any form of Sat Nav, any form of Bluetooth/plugging your phone in for calls/tunes, heated seats, any form of parking sensors, cruise control, different modes for the car (Sport, Sport +), PSSE, auto lights, auto wipers, xenons, daytime running lights, even an AUX input is an option lol. Then you have things like extended leather, Porsche crests in various places, different colour seat belts, dials.

My last car was option tastic, and tbh I don't really miss anything .. occasionally I'd like to play tunes from my iPhone (but not through an aux as it's rubbish) and it would be nice if the passenger mirror would dip when selecting reverse.

The flat 6 through the GT carnewal exhaust and the roof down is all I really need biggrin

Don't get hung up on having sat nav in a 987 - it's a bit rubbish.

If you drive at night you need xenons
