I noticed grease on the inside rear wheel a couple of times when cleaning the car.

Finally twigged that something is not right so I had a look underneath. Driveshaft outer joint is covered in loads of green grease, I assume that is the grease used inside the joint.

Strange thing is it's not leaking from the gaitor, looks like the metal part has failed.

Anybody seen this before? I've booked in hoping it will be covered by warranty but if not how much to replace?

Leaky outer CV joints can often be down to heat - no signs of any brake binding/rubbing?

If the grease gets to hot it thins, expands and purges out.

Happens on some cars during heavy track use too.

Don't think the brakes are binding.

Wouldn't you expect the grease to leak out from the rubber gaiter?

It looks like it's coming from the metal part.

As above, if you've been on track then the PSM tends to over work the rear brakes.
