I have to say that one of the disappointing things about Porsche ownership is the lack of recognition on the road. Perhaps there are too many, perhaps ( no perhaps really) we are such a disparate group that owners don't feel they relate to each other. Having owned a number of "enthusiast" cars - Loti, Caterham. TR3, (real) Cooper S, Scoobies, one is bound to think that the majority of Caysters aren't owned by real enthusiasts in the main.
It's odd, guess to some the car they drive is just a tool and they aren't much phased by others in the same car.. Yet to us guys & girls who discuss them in detail it's a passion and an interest.
I'm always guilty of filling mine up and if I see another Porsche owner giving them a friendly smile and nod, especially if it's some tasty air cooled vintage...

There's only a few 911s near me, so we all wave at each other.Have to be careful not to wave at a Cayman or Boxster though,
Lights, bonnet, windscreen, C pillar, OK .... Can wave now, it's a 911.
