Clear protector for rear hatch

My 2006 Cayman s has two clear protectors on the inside of the rear hatch (static part) to protect the paint from the rubber guides attached to the moving part of the hatch, one each side. One of these is nearly warn through. I went to Porsche for a couple of replacements as there both looking a bit shabby. £20 each. Anybody know if you can just buy sheets of the stuff from say eBay/Amazon/eurocarparts etc. There only about 4cm by 2cm and a few MM thick, I know Porsches are expensive but Christ.


Sorry I know I sound like a tight arse but I don't like getting ripped off which I feel like this is. I'm thinking it's like a very thick clear bra material.

Have a look at helicopter tape. You can get it on eBay.

£2 from eBay, 3M triple layer helicopter tape.

£2 vs £40, that's not a bad saving even if I am a cheapskate. Nice meal out for me and the misses.
