Hi
Very specific question for those with a 987 Boxster Spyder - the roof has the tension cable running over the back of the roof section that hooks onto the passenger side hook and is tensioned by the lever on the drivers side.

My cable snapped recently, looks like metal fatigue from where it bends near the 'hook'.

Anyone had this problem or replaced one? I've a quote for £270 to replace from Porsche which is a lot for the part but guessing its a fiddly fitment.

Thoughts appreciated.

Would have thought for such a bespoke part it's a question of just paying it and threading it through the eyelets.

Sorry to hear about the broken roof. I've not heard of a similar issue before.

Wouldn't be ideal if away from home and the roof needs to be up!

When mine is sat in the garage I tend to take off the flaps and release the tension out the cable, so the roof is on but not tight.
