I currently have cheap budget tyres fitted (by previous owner)and looking at replacing them.
I know about N rated and all that, but I am not the most spirited of drivers and even the poor tyres that are currently on are not bad for my driving ability, just shocking in the wet and starting to wear out.

So basically, I have ordered Michelin Pilot Sport 4s all round (running 18s). The recommended Pilot Sport 2 are N rated and cost a lot more. The car is out of warranty and basically looking to see if other people with Boxsters have fitted none N rated tyres.
The current budgets work, so MPS4s should too right?

No problem whatsoever with fitting non N-spec tyres. I personally have Michelin Pilot Supersports on my CS and they are streets ahead of any of the N-spec that are available in my size.

Great choice - even Michelin would agree that on a Porsche the PS4 is a better tyre than the ancient (but still good) PS2, and the PS4 compared (by the experts) with competitor's modern tyres is also looking like the best available today (in 18" Porsche sizes).

I have both PS2 and PS4 on the car at the moment, and it hasn't exploded yet.
