Gah - was SOOO happy with my 987.2 Cayman S. But then I was lent a 718 Boxter for a day. Got to admit - I *love* the technology and drive of the new car (and might even be sold on PDK). However, it's the first 4-cyl and there's a bit of a backlash on this. Am I an idiot to sell my lovely 987.2 Manual and spend a little on a new 718 Cayman? Think it'll hold value as well as my 987?

If you drove the 718 for a day and enjoyed what the F4T has to offer, why worry what others think of it?

In terms of value, who knows what the market for these things will look like in 2-3 years time.

Worth it from a looks and interior standpoint alone.

Knowing how good my 981 is, the 718 is meant to be better in every respect apart from noise and throttle response so if you can live with that, do it!

One caveat, try the manual.

It's impossible to make any recommendation IMO, the engine characteristics are sooo different. You'll need to have a drive.

How long was your drive? I think you'll need a good full day or two, then drive a 981 too.
