I want to get a second set of wheels to stuff Cup 2's on for just track days as I just had my wheels refurbished and would rather keep them mint (plus issue of N-rating)

So any recommendation for after-market light weight wheels for just the track - don't care about look (although preferably black!)

Thoughts?

Nick I have a set of 18 inch Cayman S II wheels in the garage. They started life as a factory winter wheel and tyre set and once I'd worn out the winters I used them as my track wheels, just as you're thinking. I found the 18" wheels worked well on the track. Tyres are cheaper than the 19s and they are more progressive at the limit. Let me know if you're interested and you can have them at a friendly price.

Also be aware that you can't get Cup 2s in the standard tyre sizes that you have on your 19s. That's why I decided to use super sports for track tyres on my spare Oz 19s.

You sure Steve? I've got Cup 2s in 235/35R19 and 265/35R19 which I thought were the standard size for the CR. Running these on Oz Ultraleggeras.

Thanks Ian, you're right, I'm wrong. After checking my notes I was looking to put cup 2s on 18 inch Cayman wheels at the time which are 235/40/18 and 265/40/18 and found that Michelin don't do the cup 2 in that rear size.

Was just looking at the Ultraleggeras - but the PCD I found was 5x120 - the Cayman R is 5x130? - would I need spacers?

You need a 5x130 - 130 is the diameter of a circle through the bolt holes so a 120 is too small - can't fix with spacers.
