981B on the NC500
Discussion
Just back from a 2000 mile road trip in my 981 Boxster...Kent to Scotland and back which included the amazing NC500. After 1 year of 981 ownership, this was my first chance to really put the car through its paces on varying roads and weather conditions. Having watched the EVO Youtube video of the NC500, a plan was hatched.
The car ran faultlessly in conditions ranging from beautiful sunshine and blue skies to 65mph winds and torrential rain. An excellent test of the 981 which settled a couple of lingering questions on my mind.
Most importantly, the awesome wail of the 6 cylinder engine over the Highland passes with the top down really confirmed to me that this engine is the very heart and soul of the 981 and any lingering thoughts of a 718 evaporated very quickly. My decision to go for the PDK proved correct as I really enjoyed the options. Yes, the "buttons" are not the best idea that Porsche have ever had and are certainly not intuitive but I did manage. Shame there are no paddles on the multifunction wheel.
For those of you that have not driven the NC500, I urge you to put it on your "to do" list for next year. To further whet your appetite, I attach a few photos below.

I think I saw you, I was with a group of Aston Martins and a GT4 in my Silver 981 GTS. Your right the NC500 is amazing and so our our cars. I currently have a 718 S loan car, wanted my GTS back badly!
And I think I might have seen you! I was also up there last week driving my silver 987 RS60 Spyder with red roof and saw a convoy of Astons with a couple of Porsches for company. I had a real blast: wonderful, wonderful roads, epic scenery and not too many other cars! It's already on the agenda for a repeat visit next year. And some from our trip 2 weeks ago . Loved it . I was particularly impressed with the north coast . Durness to Thurso . After doing some reading up I'd expected west coast to be the highlight , but the north section certainly held its own . Maybe on a sugar high from Cocoa Mountain
