Hello

Has anyone tried or thought about some Cup 2 tyres for their 981. I've noticed that Michelin now list a 245 35 20 and a 265 35 20. So obviously these are slighter wider at the front but there is no 235 35 20. Will the 245 fit on a standard 8 inch rim or would I need to go to an 8.5 inch.

Otherwise I see they list a 235 40 19 and a 265 40 19 so just right for the standard 19 inch wheels.

Don't believe they are "N" marked so my OPC would cut my hands off if I fitted them whilst in warranty!

Not sure what's happened to the 20" PS4 tyre and now there's a PS4S too... Hmmm.

Thanks for correcting me. I remember the issue now when I idly looked at these before (not that I would fit them for road use)...

It's that 245 is the wrong size for the 981 and they don't do a 235, as the OP says.

Consider warranty and insurance.

Apparently the PS4 S is a replacement for MPSS...

Yes, I just spoke to Jamie McWhir, product manager for Michelin UK as this parked my curiosity again.

PS4S is now the name for higher performance vehicle (250-300BHP and up) version of PS4.
PS4 is for lower powered hot hatches/saloons etc.

PS4S (N0) 20" for the 718/981 in 235 & 265 widths will be available from Jan 2017.

And PS4N is just for the Panamera. Michelin named it this for Porsche before deciding on the PS4S suffix for high performance vehicles, so just a bit of an anomaly.

Will be interesting to compare the PS4S to the P Zero, on the road hoon's I had no complaints with the P Zero thought it performed well, it was mostly dry though. All my daily cars run PS4 now previously PS3. Always been a good reliable tyre in all weather.

I run 20" 245/35 tyres on 8.5" Cargraphic wheels on a 981 Cayman S, they're fine
