As per the title - my rears are up for changing and just wondering if the consensus is that the P Zero is the way to go?

I come from BMW Z4/MX5 land where the debate rages around what rubber is best!

type Edited to add my car is the 981 2.7 with 19 inch rims - currently on P Zero N0 tyres

You'd be better-off giving us some clues - car? Tyre-size?

Modern P-zeros are ok, whereas some of the older designs still being punted-out with the N-rating are dire.

Whatever car or tyre-size you have, I'd probably choose something else.

Here's a good resource - http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/

If you are going to change tyre manufacturer Porsche will advise you to change all four and not have different tyre brands on front and rear axles. Just something you need to factor in to your thought process if the fronts don't need changing.

^^ I've never felt the need to stray away from these brands.

Michellin PS4S (replacement for the pilot super sport) is due to be released in Europe Jan 2017.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Michelin-Pilo...

Includes 19" and 20" sizes e.g 265/35 ZR20 and 235/35 ZR20 for my CGTS. Does anyone know whether they will be N rated

Mine has P0's all round and can't really find any fault with them? What's the issue?

Yes, they will be N marked for OEM Porsche fitting to the 718. I spoke to Jamie McWhir, UK technical manager at Michelin, a few weeks ago to confirm the release date. As you say, it's Jan. Approved for the 981 also.

These will be my next set when my Goodyears go. They are an improvement all round on the Super Sport, other than on the track, offering better wear, wet weather handling, braking, and a better price.

By the way, the PS4 "S" you link to is only for the Panamera.

The PS4S will be worth a look, my Supersports have done 25k on the front and 15k on the rear and are still only about 50% worn clap

I have P Zero N1 and they seem pretty good so far in wet and dry. Just make sure they're N1 and dates 2016 manufacture.
I didn't have any other choice for my 911 GTS apart from Dunlop Racemaxx which is a track day tyre.

No other manufacturer makes N rated tyres for my car!

+1 N1 is definitely a step forward in both feel and progression over N0.

Thanks all for the replies. N1s look like where I'm going right now but it's interesting to hear the range in opinions!

I'm based in the north so any suggestions on places able to perform full alignment/geo would also be appreciated.

I have a 997 GT3, on Michelin PS2. I run PS2 and have run Cup.

I just had a 991 S for a week, C2S, on P Zero tyres. In the dry, not a problem, good traction and cornering grip. In the wet, forget it – they were spinning through 2nd gear, first had no traction at all under hard acceleration. Got back in the GT3, full traction in the wet in 1st gear, no problem on the PS2. If I was running P Zero I would take them straight off and get some Michelins on there ASAP, no comparison in the wet especially (when you need the help the most!). This was back to back drove both on same day, same conditions, same roads, all tyres had plenty of tread (pressures checked) and there was a huge gulf in levels on grip in the wet.

The reason the 991 S had P Zero's is because there is currently no other option for that car on an N rated tyre. It's a bit mad but some of us don't actually have a choice!

Fair enough if you don't have a choice. For those that do, P Zero should be last on your list in my view. No bias from me, just saying how it is.

Do you know whether they were N1 or N0? Very different tyres.
