Anyone else get this when accelerating quite hard in the wet. Not sure if it is traction control causing it as will be at the limit of grip but it feels like axle tramp in my 981 (Didn't notice a TC light).

Cayman/boxster platforms do that, new tyres and monoball rear toe links help tame it.

It's not a TC issue.

Yes and no.

If the conditions are OK you shouldn't really have a problem with axle tramp, I find as the temperature drops it can manifest itself but then I switch to winter tyres and it stops.

Not a winter tyres fix, more a new tyres with new 6mm tread blocks which move about and this tames the issue.

Worn out tyres compound the issue as do rubber bush's in the rear toe links.

Not nice either way when it happens.

My winter tyres are not new, but my summers are.

Winter tyres fix the 'issue' in winter.

Krobar, how many miles has your car done ?

Has this just manifested itself or have you had this for some time.
Have you had any clonking at the rear at all.
There will be a reason for this of course, and it may be that someone else has had the same.
Now, it could be that your tyres are unevenly worn at the rear, just have a look.
Give us as much info as you can, and it will be solved.
Easy......
Not noticed it on my 2.7........is yours the S.... Perhaps the S suffers from this.
Gadgit.

Thanks for all the responses. It is a 2.7 and 1 year old, only happens in the wet and <10C; Needs 80%+ throttle in in 1st or 2nd too. Tyres are about halfway through tread and seem to be wearing evenly. Maybe when I eventually replace the tyres I should try something other than Dunlop although I think the only other approved tyre in 18s is the Pirelli N1 rated.

Have to say that when traction control intervenes in the dry it feels like old fashioned axle tramp even though it clearly isn't. Experienced that a lot at the PEC. It would be interesting to know if those with an LSD experience it.
