Hi all,

Happy new year to all of you.

Well this has probably been the best Christmas of all time for me smile

After deliberating between keeping my new Cayman 718 S order and waiting it out until delivery day OR going ahead and searching for an alternative, I happened to find a great car and accompanying deal!!

I found a great looking Cayman S 981 at Porsche Hatfield, Metallic Blue + PDK + leather package etc etc, then after speaking with the dealership I decided to go for it and sealed the deal.

Well, all I can say after picking it up on the 28th Dec, OMG WOW, what an amazing sounding car. It has more than enough performance to get me into trouble and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!

You can view a short video here if you like that I put together showing it off on collection day > https://youtu.be/KcFOjvzAvvA

I did previously post up a few questions asking for opinions etc on what way to go between a Cayman R or the 718 S, and I would just like to say thanks to all those that took the time to chip in - much appreciated!

If anyone ever becomes in the same situation as all I can say is go for it - you will not be disappointed.

All the best!!

Cheers,
Paul

Very very nice - congrats! Really like the colour/wheel colour combo.

Trust it's as clean as the pickup cleanness again? wink

Very nice Paul, great colour combo with the wheels, lovely.
I made same choice as you and went for a 981s instead of waiting and am super happy.
Nice video - loving those 6 cylinder sounds

Thanks all.

This was definitely the best choice for me I feel.

Apologies for the crap sound in the video - I'll have to try harder to catch the fantastic sound this engine gives off!

(and yes it's now very clean again spin )

Nice vid and glad you're enjoying the new toy. Nothing like the excitement of collection day! I see you dealt with Nigel Dunne at Hatfield. Nice guy - sold me a car too. Good memories!

I am a little annoyed that your car looks so good though as you've further complicated my colour choice biggrin

heheh Glad I could help!! smile

When I had my new car order in place I was pretty certain I was going to go down the GT Silver with black wheels path - however as soon as I saw this metallic blue colour I felt like it was a really nice refreshing alternative to the usual palette you normally see for Porsche's.

I'm sure you'll love it no matter the colour!!

We nearly bought a car from Nigel. Very nice guy. Unfortunately a colleague of his got involved in the deal and we ended up walking away and buying elsewhere. Got an apology from both of them afterwards.
