Yep opc Sheffield have the most expensive secondhand 987 spyder to date and it's not even a manual!
But then the 987 spyder is a special car and is the only previous cayster owned I would have kept if I could alongside the Gt4!

Previous owners obviously really enjoyed their car - at less than 1000 miles per year........
Tragic!

It's fairly niche in that color at that price in winter!

Pros
Ceramics, buckets, spider alloys, 6k miles.

Cons
It's black, PDK, no PSE, no PCM and it's £55k.

Added! wink

At that price I would also expect at least pse and perhaps pcm!
Colour and gearbox is all personal but for me manual and white is the best combo!
Funnily my car came from Sheffield and was only 6 digits off that chassis number, that car is also a 2012 model year so one of the very last to be built!

Is the general consensus that these are increasing in value or at least holding value or is that one a bit of an exception?

I bought mine just over a year ago because I always liked the look of them. I haven't had the chance to drive it much and will probably sell it in spring but didn't really pay much attention to historic prices. I also didn't see many advertised with ceramics.

Looks nice tho.

The 987 spyder prices have been strong and slowly rising over the last 2 years. It hasn't always been like this in 2011/12 a new car although pre registered could be had for £45k although list was nearer £60k they just we're not selling new the prices continued to fall in the secondhand market to about £30-35k but since about 2013 have continued to rise but this is also true of cars like the 997.2 Gts!
I think prices have been helped by the 981 spyder but the 987 spyder is a unique car and not a black edition/gts cayster special and last of the truly analogue cars hence why imo it should be manual for top dollar!

Isn't this the same car advertised for a different price?

If mid £40's is the value of the right spec and low mileage cars, what would an average mile , low spec car be ??

No buckets
No PCCB
Normal wheels
50k mikes instead of 15k

I would have thought a 15k discount - however I imagine the £30k spyder (non car D) exists ??

Mental price for a fairly low spec but low mileage car. Come Spring it will no doubt be £60k!

Good spec 981 Spyder cost under £70k new!

Annual insurance is up for renewal soon, looks like I will have to increase the replacement value yet again.

Can't complain as happy to have a car increasing in value although I am not using it as much as I should be.
