Cayman Luggage Set
Discussion
Thinking about 2 weeks in France in the 718 in the summer and convincing the other half it is practical enough - I came across Carbags who do a fitted luggage set - anybody got one, what do you think ? Any others similar available. Price at 149 euros seems ok

Haven't seen these before. They look good and not a bad price. https://www.car-bags.com/en/porsche/porsche-cayman...

Might be a purchase for Le mans trip.
There is so much room that, if you have a decent selection of modest size cases, there really isn't any need for anything special in the Cayman and the Boxster is only loses the over engine area. Two medium sizes cases plush a squashy bag or two will fit in the front boot, an aircraft cabin size bag in the rear, a further medium case over the engine if you need to, and a more squashy bags as as well.
The only snag is getting stuff from the bottom of the front boot - and I wouldn't be keen on having the humungous bag shown in the picture in there.

We took our 981 CS to europe for 2 weeks, and space is fine. We use use Eastpak (transverz M and S) holdalls in the front, and smaller items in the boot. We also have a suit bag that goes on the engine cover held in place by the net.
I'm also thinking of going to France in June after I get delivery of my Cayman hopefully in March............NET ? my car does not come with a net, although has fixings, where can I could I one ? I assume it would fit both new & old Cayman's ?Got a vehicle set from these people. Very pleased with them and great service.

In the accessory book it's shown fitted in the boot, but there's also loops on the engine cover where it can be fitted. I would expect it fits 987's and 981's.I've got the rear bag for the boxster/Cayman from car bags. Personally I don't think they are worth the money, not very well made and I'm not sure what benefit it gives over off the shelf bags. On recommendation from a PH forum member I purchased two of these for the front of my 987.2 Cayman:

For the money they are superb. Waterproof and tough as old boots. I've had mine over a year and have been used dozens of times and still look new. Ok, not the most elegant luggage if you're turning up at a fancy hotel, but the quality is great and I've used them in all weathers packed with up to 25kg and not a zip or strap has failed. Two of them fit snugly in the front boot with a little space left at the top front for a small bag depending how tightly packed they are.
Thanks.
James.
