New Registrations
Discussion
Had call from OPC, was going to pick up my car this morning, but due to software issues NO New Porsche registrations in the UK until Monday 27th March
This is due to the rewriting of s/w for the new tax rates which come into effect on 1st April. Porsche obviously having issues.
I will be given a Macan until I pick up my car on Monday...hopefully.
One would have thought the s/w would have been written & tested prior to it being introduced !!
Anyway nobody can say it's not an experience buying a new Porsche .....................

Same here. I got the same call last night. Hopefully it'll be rectified soonThis is due to the rewriting of s/w for the new tax rates which come into effect on 1st April. Porsche obviously having issues.

When you buy a car brand new, you pay VED from the day you buy it. I.e If you buy it on 10th, the dealer can apply for VED for 12 months and 21 days. (Not sure but they may be able to get you 11 mths and 10 days?)
In any case, I presume this is the issue. The rates for new cars are being hugely rejigged for car registered after April 1st so maybe the software couldn't cope with buying it at the old rate for a car. calculated passed April 1st. It may be DVLA's software, not Porsche?

As someone said earlier .... You couldn't make it up
It can't be the dvla ....or the country would come to a standstill
I've had nothing but a crap experience buying a new car from Porsche and I'm still waiting for my Cayman .... Now 3.5 weeks " in production" and I'm unlikely to get the thing before 31/3
Pathetic and I'm really annoyed now
