Boxster GTS - PADM fault
Discussion
Had a great spirited drive this afternoon, to be rewarded by a message "PADM Disabled Service Required Driving Permitted" . Annoying! A fault with the dynamic engine mounts. Contacted my local OPC to be told fine to continue driving but no track events. Never had a track day with this car so no problem. Booked in next Friday for investigation. Reading up on the interweb it appears to be a fairly common problem!

Some bits of info on common failures here that might be useful

If it were me I'd try very hard not to pay out for this. The frequency of the error showing up on the web really suggests a design or engineering issue with the engine mount system. Multiple failures in young cars that cost £70k would not be considered reasonable by any small claims court is my guess.
I'd like a 981GTS boxster but this issue really puts me off, although probably not enough unfortunately;-)

I will never again spec a car with sport chrono. I never used one of the SC features. Even the sport button I press only three or four times a year.
Totally overrated, I dont know why everyone wants to have it.
But the GTS has it standard.
If the 718 Boxster would have an acceptable engine, I would be tempted to sell the 981 Boxster and buy a 718 S without SC. But with this F4 turbo I cannot live.
If this part fails every half year it would be better not to repair it and wait until I sell the car and repair it short before that.
It will be interesting to see tomorrow if the new already changed engine mount failed or the other (old) one.
I drove 50km with deactivated PADM. I didnot feel any difference.
