Hi all,

First post on the forums after lurking and reading for a while.

Bought a fully loaded black Boxster S with an epic spec (911 Turbo Design wheels, PASM, full leather, etc. etc. - probably every option that exists) just over a year ago, and am considering parting with it as I don't drive it that often (as I live in London).

My only concern is that I will regret my decision as I have owned and driven an number of cars over the years but none has been this much fun - I probably drive it 2-3 times a month though!

I've been asking around and I have a number of offers from dealers for what I consider to be a reasonably fair price for it, most likely due to the fact that fully loaded ones in black or silver seem to be quite rare; on the other hand, many of the dealers had suggested if they were in my position they would hold on to the car and accept some further depreciation.

I don't expect anyone to decide for me; just venting my frustration on a public forum in an attempt to try come to a conclusion!

At least wait until after summer! At least you'll enjoy the warm months with the roof down and the sound of that engine

List it on the PH site, get a good offer and that will help you decided. Once you smell the money you will know if you want to keep it or not.

Do you have something else to drive in addition to the Boxster?

Nope; thinking of going without a car for a while.

I don't think there would be much point replacing it - it's either no car, or ride the depreciation and maintenance wave...

A lot of Porsche's have quite low mileage for their age. Not everyone uses them daily.

From that you could interpret they are only getting used at weekend, therefore few times a month. You may be no different from others.

981 last of the flat sixes, it might hold value.

Although there are definitely sunk ancillary costs, like insurance, MOT, tax, parking etc etc.

Interesting that dealers are encouraging you to hold onto it though.
