Hi all,
anyone had this issue?
May have an issue with the PDK? gearbox.
Over the last 6 weeks I have noticed not all the time though that
when the car engages gears low down the whole car tends to vibrate?
there have been times also when changing down from 2nd to 1st when there is a loud
metallic metal on metal sound. Not had a PDK that did this before.
This morning on the way to work and pulling into the carpark the car lurched forward
3 times with the loud metallic sound (bang) also??? (almost as tho it couldn't decide which gear
to choose???) Its never done this before and I honestly thought there might be a pool of oil on the floor??
Current mileage is 1300 miles, Purchased January 2017.
Any ideas??
thanks

Well car has been in regarding pdk check but could not find anything wrong. Spoke to service engineer who said Porsche are aware of slight issue and are working on an electronic fix. So to clarify car in normal mode seems to Be in wrong gear hence vibration always have to force change down, clanks and bangs coming down gears and occasionally can't. DEcide which gear to be in ☹️

I don't know whether it's the same sort of issue - but in Normal mode on the 981 the box changes into 7th very soon (around 1200rpm on light throttle) - presumably for economy reasons . If you then accelerate the engine is allowed to labour - albeit only briefly. Clearly this is a bigger potential issue with a 4 pot. Personally, in those circumstances I manually force a change down before accelerating, so I don't find it an issue - but if you really want to drive the car as an auto (I don't), you might do.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
