I've been to view a 987 Boxster which has a few issues, the only one I am concerned about is the rear deck lid/ roof cover. When the roof is folded it seems to sit about 5-10mm proud. I wondered if this was
a) common
b) going to be a problem (other than aesthetics)
c) if it was a problem how easy (and pricey) would it be to fix?

I think this is called the clam shell. It sits on some rubber boots and glides along runners. I guess the runners could need lubing or some of the joints. Personally my OCD is way easier going than yours and therefore I wouldn't give this a second thought IF the car drove well.

Bit of an update.
I bought the car, picked it up on Saturday. The clam shell seems to have settled now that the roof has been up and down a number of times. So that's one job done.

I'm very pleased with the car, especially over the last weekend. It may soon be appearing in the Poverty Pork thread, now needs an oil change and possibly an ATF change.
