Folks, posted in the GTS thread that I'm looking for a car for a friend. We have narrowed it down to these two to match the budget and desired spec.

Any thoughts or opinions on the cars welcome.

Thanks.

Surely if you've narrowed it down to these two and your friend likes the spec on both it's just which colour he prefers? Nobody can make that decision for him.

White car: I cant think of many reasons for specifying a fire extinguisher, other than planning to drive with my pants on fire? And it has a rear wiper. Although it does have the GTS interior and climate control (nice options). And less miles for less money.

Red car: PTV is a really nice option to have (LSD).

I'd be basing my decision on the plausibility of their explanation for the fire extinguisher smile

White for me, reasons I'd go for that is I think it looks better, less miles and it's cheaper - both nice though

Red. As it has no rear wiper. Red will get a lot of attention as well. Though mainly from middle aged men or 8 year old boys.

I know it wasn't the original question but I think the red in Edinburgh is a more tempting proposition. In my view at least.

Good luck with whichever one you end up with. They are fine cars!

Colour is the call for me, I dislike white cars.

I wouldn't buy one with 30k miles when there are a choice of cars with mid teens as not a special mileage now and certainly not with any more on.

The sapphire one would be a good one if it had a sport design steering wheel but could ask them if they would supply and fit one for the asking price.
It is around £1k to supply and fit one on a 997 but on the 981 they would have to fit the stalk for controls.

I would probably buy this one as a manual and has the full bucket seats along with the red stitching, a bit like a baby GT4 and certainly not £25k less of a car compared to the GT4.

This looks very good value and has everything that your friend wants plus rear camera.

Great shout, not on the Porsche site for some reason. We're heading there Saturday and will drive this one as well.

Those wheels would put me off - very vulnerable and practically impossible to repair properly.

The fire extinguisher is a very good point, unless for track use why else? PEC car perhaps?

I bought the Silver one from Cambridge - has £13.5k of options - great car. Price seemed OK for one owner, 2okmiles, with that spec.
