Hey Guys, been into Wolverhampton OPC today to lock down spec on my 718C, and I'm keen to get the front of the car applied with a paint protection film. Can anyone recommend an installer in the Birmingham/Midlands area. Closer the better to wolves if possible as the dealer are happy to organise drop off to get the car protected before I leave the dealership. Cheers all. And thanks for all the sound advice to date. Made my life much easier

Hi mate

I've tried a couple of different detailiers and PPF fitters across the Midlands and can wholeheartedly recommend Ben from Autowerx. He is fanatical about both detailing and PPF being done correctly.

I'm quite fussy about detailing and if I am paying someone, I expect them to do a better job than I could and he has consistently exceeded my expectations.
He does PPF for all manner of super cars and has always provided me with an excellent service

I'm interested in this too as I am buying from wolves and want to get ppf applied before I pick it up, I have a 9 month wait though so plenty of time.

The guys at wolves are brilliant.

They've told me they can pass on details of ppf installers but can't recommend anyone because Porsche won't endorse them. That said the OPC have said they will deliver/collect the car if I organise date, so I can drive it off the forecourt fully prepped. Looking at the example in Steve's link, Wolves delivered the car to the detailer in its original transport protection which is encouraging.

@steve thanks for recommendation. I've Ben in touch with Ben to get an idea of costs

can anyone share what prices they paid for, to give a heads up for those who are considering in the near future.

Be quite useful if you guys can

1, Frontal/ Partial or full coverage for what car
2, brand - 3M ,clearbra , Xpel
3, Location
4, Year you had it done
5, Comments of the product

thanks

@Steve - Ben spoke highly of you too. 😀 My friend is asking his ft yep there too. You should be on commission...haa haa.

Price wise seems really good value. Autowerks have cost options on their website but this is what I've been quoted for front bumper and side skirts, with the car being delivered from the dealer untouched:
Removal of delivery films/packaging
Snowfoam
Decontamination & clay bar all over
Polish mop and correction to all panels PPF being applied to
Application of PPF (cut using a plotter)
Sealant spray and dressings to entire car

He mentioned a brand (in his view the best), which is high gloss and has hydro properties so no wax/ polishing needed. Five year guarantee. Seen 10 yrs I won't have the car after 3 yrs so 5 plenty.
Front bumper £325
Side skirts £225

I've seen cheaper elsewhere but their prep method is questionable.

Hope this helps.

It might also be worth dropping Russ a line at Midlands Car Care in Walsall. He has contracts with some high end dealers and can help you out with anything you need.

Midlands Car Care did an excellent job on my PPF, but the customer service and communication was very poor. A real shame as workmanship was good, but the hassle factor means I wouldn't use them again.
