Can't talk to DME ECU on obd2

I have a really strange problem regarding the DME ECU. I've got an iCarSoft i960 scanner that plugs into the OBD2 port but it can't connect to the DME ECU.
The DME is working as otherwise I wouldn't be able to drive the car.
The iCarSoft is working okay as it can connect to all other ECU's installed in the car and read fault codes fine.
Anyone got any ideas?
