They're only stuck on by some double sided tape, if you decided you want them on later they cost alot. So it's a no brainer that you keep it standard and remove them if you don't like it. Expect the badges cost over £100+
This. Get the car with the badges on and have them taken off once you have it if desired.I had the badges removed from the back of a Merc I had a few cars back and the dealer did it for free for me. They put the badges in a little plastic bag which travelled around in the glove box until I sold it. The dealer has a little template and they just stick them back on. Zero cost, whereas if they have to order them...well, you get the picture.

Trust me, they're stuck on very tight and you'll need to be ultra-careful with your brand-new-pride-and-joy to get them off without damage. They'll never stick back on again anyway and you'd have a nightmare trying to trim double-sided pads to fit!
The dealer can delete the model designation but can't delete P O R S C H E which the company only recently started to plaster all across the back of its sportscars. Not sure how those letters work on 718 but I'd have those off too, if possible. I prefer a car's shape to say what it is rather than need everything written on the back.

I specified model delete on our 981 GTS. To me having PORSCHE and underneath Boxster GTS was just too cluttered. I'm happy with the result, no regrets. I left the GTS script on the doors however. Not sure how it works with the different rear styling on 718 but on 981 the Porsche script is repositioned slightly lower on the boot lid, so if you later decided to fit the model script you'd need to reposition PORSCHE to make it look correctly spaced.

As stated in my post, the dealer will do it for you (in fairness, I am speaking for Mercedes, so an OPC may be different). To get off they use a cat-gut or fishing line/nylon then a nice gentle clean to remove the residual sticky. Done!
When it comes to putting back on, they have template sticky bits. No worries!

I too like the uncluttered mystery of just having P O R S C H E but no model. That's how I bought mine used. Everyone knows a 911 but I often have people ask me what my model is, especially when it's a V8...

I actually think the 718 with it's permanent 'Porsche' lettering, looks better without any model designation at all, whereas the 981 (and earlier) looks a bit bare without any badges at all.I liked the black of the badges against my Agate Grey as they were a little more subtle:
