Keyless entry - Fob off !

My key works fine once in the car.
The central locking switch on the dash works .
The remote from the key fob will not lock/unlock the car and the front and rear boots buttons also do nothing. The LED's do flash but nothing unlocks.
This key fob has worked fine until about 10 days ago. I have put a new battery cell in and it flashes on all buttons.
On the top of the dashboard in car the Alarm LED is now flashing every 2 secs when the car is locked and alarm on but when I try to unlock the vehicle with the fob still nothing happening .
Any suggestions please ?

Is it for the 986 boxster in your profile?
If so then you could try de-polarising it by putting the battery the wrong way over and then swapping it back as that has worked once but they are common to loose their coding and will need a new key head from Porsche and for them to code it for about half an hour and can keep your original blade.
They also don’t need any power in the key to start it.
If it was a 997 then they are a lot easier to resync.

A common problem on these is the solder joints deteriorating. If you are good at soldering electronic components, desolder and remove the plastic battery carrier and resolder/reflow all surface mount components on the circuit board. Re solder the carrier and it should work again. It may need a re sync as you have already mentioned. HTH Andy
