"Market launch vehicle" listed on this car's spec?
Discussion
Does that mean it was probably used as a demo vehicle? Is there any way of actually checking? (other than asking the selling dealer, who will of course say "oh definitely not, sir").
Interested in why Porsche actually list it on the spec, they must therefore think it is relevant to the history of the car?
An otherwise really good spec (to my mind), but kind of spoiled by missing something as basic as climate control. Ridiculous! My 15-yr old daily car came with it as standard!!
Can never seem to link to Porsche site (where it says "Market launch vehicle") but it's on Autotrader:

The rule is everything a car salesman tells you is intended to get you to buy the car ASAP and to pay as much for it as possible. An ad is no different in this regard.
Probably is mentioned as it is believed this will add to the cachet of the vehicle and help it sell and for a higher price.
I've not see Porsche launch vehicles after the launch but Ive seen other cars -- Minis for example -- after a press day and the cars -- at least the brakes and tires -- are thrashed. The truck driver who was hauling the cars told me he was taking the cars to a place that specializes in refreshing cars used like these had been used. The take away is if this is done at the dealer there's a record of some kind so taking the cars to another business kind of gets around this.
As for no climate control?...
Some months back, more than a year back, I came upon a rather special Cayman. I forget the model but likely a GT4 given the original owners intended usage. The original owner had spec' the car as a "track" car. But after he received delivery of the car in just a short time he decided he didn't want it. He worked out a trade in with the selling dealer. The car was nice, and I think I could have gotten a pretty good deal on the car, and I was tempted but it had no A/C. The original buyer optioned it as a "track" car which meant no A/C. No A/C? No sale is my motto.
Much more recently the local Porsche dealer sent someone to pick me up at my house and he was driving a nice used low miles GT4. Pretty extreme car. Roll cage. Fire extinguisher in front of the passenger's seat. Tempting but the short ride made it clear the car was too raw/extreme for me. I use my cars to commute to and from work and I don't want to sit in a "race car" for maybe 2 hours a day, at least not on the street.
This GT4 reminded me of the other earlier car and I mentioned it. A dealer employee said something like "Oh, you mean the car we had to sell 4 times?"
No A/C just kills a car's resale value.

Market launch cars means it was move around for launch events during the launch period and left in showroom to let customers see it, some might have test drives but from what i looked up, people say it wasn’t a demo.
From what i know these market launch cars only came with the choice of 1-2 configeration for dealers to order so many Launch cars have same spec but different colour etc
Also the the vin would have the market launch code included in the option so they have to tell you its a market launch car
Quite hard to explain that it isn’t a demo when you see the white ireland one for £55k and it has like what 10k miles? someone must have been using it daily.
