I got an invite, followed by a call from Porsche inviting me to a Platinum Sales Event at my local OPC. So when I got the call I asked the lady what the event was, as the invite didn't say much - here's how it then panned out...

Porsche lady: "it's an exclusive invitation to get the BEST deal on a new Porsche"

Me: "so BEST deals as in better than the normal advertised rates?"

Porsche lady: "yes it's an exclusive sales event with exclusive discounts"

Me: "thats great thanks, I only recently ordered one and not gone into build yet. So should I cancel and re-order, because I didn't get any special discounts at all?"

Porsche lady (shocked and back peddling): "oh sorry sir, this is a mistake you shouldn't have received the invitation. I apologise. You will have already got the best price, and these event prices would not be better than you received" (without knowing event what my order was)

Anyone been to these events? Not sure if I should still use my invite and see how much I could/should have saved smile

Basically, what they are saying is normally you wouldnt be given ANY prefferential treatment but because you are a valued customer and have been invited to the Platinum sales event, you will be handed a velvet cushion to place between your stomach and the barrel they bend you over rofl

Your new to porsche then ;-)

It does not matter what marque they all want to get existing customers into new cars. They all wrap that up in different ways but ultimately all lie to you about their motivations, porsche is no different. Wait until you get the call asking how you are getting on with your car, we have some great stock in and would love you to pay us a visit .........yawn........

You will soon realise you get nothing for free with Porsche, especially a discount that no one else can get lol
