Just got the opportunity to purchase a private 2012 Boxter S 3.4 with 30k miles FPSH black, mint car, what should I be paying, is £30k about right and is there anything I should be wary of now or in the future please, just sold a beautiful Exige V6 2014 (big mistake) but the wife is fed up of falling in and out thought the Boxter might be a bit more refined or am I making a mistake ?

Is that a 981 Boxster 'S'?

Options? Service History? Warranty?

At 30k it’s always going to be cheap but could be a bargain if it’s well spec’d. These cars massively vary in price depending on spec. Like any Porsche, you can spend £10k on options without even trying.

You should be aware black cars are a pain to keep looking clean. I'd never have another, nor another white one either.

£30k may be OK for a 981 but seems a little toppy to me? Need more info on spec and history to say more.

30k is a good price if it's a 981, spec is important though

OP, from the answers you have received it is clear that there are differing opinions. The right one is that more information about the options is needed.

I’ve been watching these and £30k for a 3.4 S is a very good price. Some 2.7s have very low spec at this price but 3.4s are usually better. Check the spec but could be a bargain.

Assuming this is a 981. There aren’t many Boxster S available starting with a £2x,xxx Certainly not with that mileage. £30k would be a decent buy even if a low spec. If a good spec it would be a steal IMO.

Ah you purchased the competition one from eBay? It has had the clock changed to the name of the car garage.

If so the tyres are all the wrong sizes!

There is an 11 month gap in the MOT history too. There is a thread about this car on boxa.net.

OP, did you HPI the car?

No chance of a Porsche warranty then! As already stated, £30k is cheap for a 981S - I keep looking for one myself but they're staying stubbornly north of that.

Sounds like a pretty good spec, although no PSE or PASM?
Price does seems low for a 981S to be used and enjoyed.
Probably worth getting checked over and fine tuned. OPC or independent?
