Porsche Indoor/Outdoor Car Cover
Discussion
So having collected my 718 GTS I’m now browsing through the Tequipment stuff to see what goodies I can have.
One thing I am keen on is a car cover, as my garage does get a little dusty - but then I thought (as my car may on occasion spend the odd night outside) it could be wise to get the outdoor cover instead (use it indoors) and have the option to use it outside when needed. Am I right in thinking they’re both the same other than the outdoor one being waterproof? Or is there more too it than that? Anyone bought either the indoor or outdoor and offer advice or recommendation?
Are there any other ‘essentials’ or obvious choices I should consider? Dealer recommended the front luggage liner box.

I have both the front and rear load liners and wouldn't be without. For reasons I can't fathom, the front liner seems to pick up a mucky stain at the bottom. This obviously just wipes off but would be a whole different story on carpet. I find worn and dirty load bay carpets just look sh*t.Those liners have the Porsche "tax" fully applied but I still think they're worth it. If cost bothers you, they come up on ebay or just haggle with the dealer.....I find 10% easy to achieve

I’ve not seen the rear one. Is it just a lift out box like the front one is?
It would be worth speaking to a specialist car cover company but my understanding is the indoor ones are better in a garage due to 'breathability' which is totally different with the outdoor ones.
As for the dusty garage, treating the walls & floor with a paint/sealant will help to minimise it, as will airing the garage every now & then

That's great thanks, I've ordered the indoor one.As for the dusty garage, treating the walls & floor with a paint/sealant will help to minimise it, as will airing the garage every now & then
Cheers for the tip about the sealant too, will got onto that!
Hi Tim,
The rear one is like a rubber matt but with a perimeter "lip" about 3cm high. If your milk spills on the way home from Tesco (or should that be Waitrose
!) it will contain the mess and make clean up easier. Once again, no worn or stained carpet on the boot floor.
Hope that helps.

Ive got a breathable Stormforce external cover if your interested? Its meant to be sized for my 996 GT3 so should fit your. It has or should have straps that you fling under the car and do up to stop it blowing away/coming off.
Drop me a message if your interested? Its been sat in my shed for 5(?) years now in its bag as the car lives in a garage.
