I've had my BGTS for 2 years, it's now coming upto it's 3 year birthday and the warranty is due to expire. The car has just over 8500 miles on it and generally gets 3000 miles a year max.

Just wondering if anyone has had any mechanical issues with the 981 in general or any roof problems with the Boxster? I expect I'll keep the car for another 2 years but gut feeling is there a no need for a warranty.

What do you guys think?

On a side note does the Boxster Spyder / GT4 steering wheel fit the GTS? I'd rather spend warranty cash on that as the standard sports wheel feels abit bus like. I know the ratio on the Spyder is shorter so with a smaller wheel is need to turn it more I guess?

I’ve recently had to replace both silencers due to exhaust valve sticking on my CGTS
Mechanic told me it’s a common problem and costs 3k
I’m renewing my warranty

Just got another problem with an active engine mount (these are part of the Sport CHRONO package), I had one replaced a year ago. Part is circa £900 with 4 hrs labour.

Useful info guys. I've got another year's warranty on my CGTS and have been debating whether to go for the extended... Reckon I'll be doing so.

I had a chat about the Zunsport grilles when I was last at my OPC and they seemed pretty relaxed.

how old was the car as Exhaust not covered after 3 years it's a wear item.
