981 Spyder - dash reflection with Red interior?
Discussion
Hi all
Long time GT4 owner here and thinking to add a Spyder for the summer before perhaps ordering the 718 Spyder when it’s launched.
I’ve been offered one for sale privately with Boxster Spyder red and grey interior. It’s different to my gt4 hence considering it but does anyone know if it reflects from the dash onto the windscreen? I’ve had some cars in the past that have done this and it’s annoying.
If anyone has experience?
Thanks

Just had a quick drive in my new Spyder this evening, to cool myself down after a very hot afternoon walking on the coastal footpath. From a purely fun driving road car driving at sensible speeds, arguably the best Porsche i've ever owned..The fastest Porsches i've owned including my current GT3 are frustrating to drive at sensible speeds as they are basically too fast for public roads.
With my GT3 i seem to spend more time coming off the throttle than pressing it , as the car revs so incredibly quickly i'm at licence losing speeds in a blink of an eye..In the Spyder, especially with the top down i'm much less frustrated as i just enjoy the open air sensations and the amazing noises it makes..Speaking of noises my Spyder makes the best noise out of all the cars i've ever owned, and thats including my GT3..
I like it way more than my old GT4, yet i'm still not quite sure why..
It also attracts serious attention which is all positive, an example i've noticed is other drivers always let me out at junctions..Not something i'm used to when driving my other Porsches..!

Good to hear John. I really want the new one when released but just fancy the 981 for summer fun after seeing yours! My GT4 is going no where, I love it to bits. I can’t see how I’d like the Spyder more but I’m open to temptation!
Just not sure about this red interior combo? :/

mines not for sale yet. but PM me if you want one.
But not noticed any reflections any worst than any thing else
Sports crono in the newer cars is the biggest reflection issue imo.
Does yours have the classic Spyder interior package with red and grey David? But not noticed any reflections any worst than any thing else

Yep mines that car in that link above, Porsche approved and been serviced.Be good value as well vs others for sale as I need to move it, quite a big spec also.
if I only had one car I do think it covers a lot of bases, but I have 5 cars so it has to go and now the suns out I really want to drive my older one this summer more.

Ok so to answer my question, do you get dash reflection with it not being black?
Never noticed it, where I do notice crono in the 718 range and Macans straight away.Come drive mine I,ll do you a nice deal if you like it. The cars leather is not dog knob red like some crazy reds. I actually hate red leather but find the darker 2 tone works very well. My gf hated it in pics and loves it in real life, she rather a sell every thing else.
It’s bloody fast also now it has miles, like all these cars they seem to need >5k miles to free up.

Quite simply you have explained why I also feel the spyder is the best road car porsche has made in the current generation. I have also had faster more focused cars but they always end up one trick ponies. I spotted the new GT2 RS at Llandudno and after the admiration of all the engineering concluded the guy probably had less fun on North Wales roads than me.
